Going Solo this week.

This week I'm going solo and bringing you some awesome new music and an array of cool new electro mixes. I have been digging Fake Blood mixes this week and will be bringing you a couple of Fake Blood tracks tonight as well as more from Fenech Soler, this week remixing Marina and The Diamonds and also I have 2 new mixes from a man called Grum.

First off though a small message.

Oe Est Le Swimming Pool

Surprised was an understatement, when I heard that lead singer of the band ‘Ou est le Swimming Pool’, Charles Haddon, took his life last week. It happened after the band performed at Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival. The remaining members of the band have said that their new album, ‘LPChrist Died for Our Synths’ will stil be released in October. I had the pleasure of seeing these guys perform at Board-Masters this year and was really impressed with what I heard. Tonight I will kick off the show with their single, “Dance The Way I Feel”. My best wishes go out to the band, the family, the fans, and all those close to them.

Funeral Party – Just because

Hot off the back of their debut single ‘New York Moves to the sound of LA’.. East Los Angeles 5 Piece ‘Funeral Party’ will release their second single ‘Just Because’ on Monday. This is the second track that they have taken from their debut album shockingly named ‘Funeral Party’, whichj is due out next month.

Taylor Momsen probably was recently reported dissing Rihanna in Spin a few weeks back. “People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred,” she said. “Now Rihanna’s wearing fucking leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.” Well now to prove she actually thinks Rihanna is “very talented,” Little J and a member of her band the Pretty Reckless stopped by Radio 1’s Live Lounge to perform an acoustic mashup of the xx’s “Islands” and Eminem & Rihanna’s “Love The Way You Lie.” Live Mash-Ups are something that I am always a fan of…

More fashion sense than a week old Llama

Another week and another load of awesome new music and new mash-ups to come your way on the show. GoHomeProductions is back and I've thrown his video down at the bottom. I have discovered a new mash-up artist this week. They are crazy Italians called 'DJ's From Mars'. Their Myspace has loads of mash-up videos and my favourite is also at the bottom of this post. Record of the week

Fenech Soler, who you can see we interviewed @ Boardmasters below, release there second single “Liess” on the 20^th September with their ‘self titled’ album coming out on B-Unique a week later. I’m lovin the sound of the two singles and cannot wait for the album.

Album of the week

The Klaxons second album has been three years in the making but I certainly feel this album is a move in the right direction for the boy ravers from Shoreditch.

Back from Board-Masters

So we are back again this week after a week off to go and schmooze down in New Quay at the Board-Masters Festival 2010. We hung out with bands, had a few drinks met some surfers… it was ultra cool. This week’s Record of the week comes from a band that we saw down in New Quay…

Board-Masters

Had an amazing time at the Board-Masters festival. We met some great people, had some fun times and saw some great music. I’ll be playing my highlights from the festival on the show but you can see the live performances and interviews right here.

Interview with Fenech Soler

Our interview with a great new band out of Kings Cliffe. Tipped to be one of the hottest bands of 2010. The new single Lies is out Sept. 20th, with the album B-Unique released the following week.

The Jude

New kids on the block at festivals this year are The Jude, a four piece from London. Here they are performing ‘Les Filles Française’ on The View Stage.
